Recent Country Music Chat #CMchat guests Lee Brice and Dallas Davidson should get together and write about their two left feet more often. Their hit single I Don’t Dance” (also written by Rob Hatch) recently reached platinum status, waltzing right past other songs on the way up the charts.

At a Madison Square Garden show on Friday night, Lee was surprised on stage by NBC Today’s Hoda Kotb and representatives of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) with a beautiful plaque commemorating one million digital units sold. The exciting presentation came as Lee finished his performance of his new single Drinking Class.”

As if receiving this honor isn’t enough to make Lee do a happy dance, “I Don’t Dance” was dubbed the fastest-certified platinum single of 2014. Based on my recent review of Lee’s same-named album, it is not shocking that the offering also reached Number 1 on the Billboard Country chart (Number 5 on the Hot 200 Albums chart) in its first week with 150,000 copies sold.

Congratulations to one of Country Music Chat’s favorite artists on his success! This is most certainly just the beginning of the rise.
