It’s amazing how just stumbling upon something can shape and direct the rest of your life. That’s exactly what happened to Lexie Hayden at the young age of 7 when she found a tape recorder in her mother’s closet. Little Lexie recorded herself singing “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and everyone who listened to it could hear the passion as she sang. At the age of 14, Hayden received her first guitar and would then take that passion for singing and use it towards karaoke machines, guitar lessons, show choir and piano recitals; experience she would need to take her to the next stop along her musical journey.
It wasn’t until her freshman year of high school until she got the drive she really needed. She was invited on stage to perform with a band at a popular local venue. After performing, she walked off the stage and heard a crowd member in the audience say “one day I’ll say I saw her before she was famous!” That night, Hayden posted her first YouTube video and now, four years later, her YouTube channel has grown into 90+ videos and 2 million+ views.
Lexie Hayden, now 20 years old, is currently an intern on “The Bobby Bones Show” and is chasing her dream as a country music artist. You can buy her songs on iTunes here. Do yourself a favor and check out her lyric video for “Rainin’ On a Wednesday” and let it blow you away like it did to me when I first heard it.
