Canadian singer, songwriter and rocker Lindsay Ell has been gaining momentum lately with her new single “By The Way.” The song is extremely catchy and infused with instrumental power thanks to hefty banjo and guitar riffs. Ell is exceptionally talented at her craft. She plays a wide variety of instruments and has a delightful vocal range. She’s without a doubt perfect for country radio and possibly even pop radio. She is most certainly one of a kind.
I’m currently in a leather jacket, long tank top and skinny jeans. At one of my favorite spots in Nashville, the Turnip Truck.
2. What’s your official title and favorite thing about what you do?
Musician…artist. It’s amazing to be able to do what I love for a living and call it a job.
My guitar, my phone and headphones.
Usually check twitter, Instagram and my email.
Tinkerbell or Road Runner, actually probably Road Runner first. I would like to be able to travel that fast.
To say no to things. I love being able to help people however I can, so it’s been really hard to have to learn to say no to some things. Over the past few years, I’ve finally learned that doing a good job of the few things that I want to do is so much better than stretching myself too thin and just barely getting by trying to do everything.
Sweet! Any day of the week.
Ummm, red wine?
Shania Twain or Garth Brooks.
I’m going to say 30…of course. I don’t even know what 30 feels like, but I feel there are a so many things that I am just starting to accomplish in life, and I have so much more I want to do. I feel like I’m beginning to enter a place in my life where I really know who I am and where I want to be going. Give me a few more years and I think that will be taking shape even better.
The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville is always a really special place to play. There’s a history on that stage that’s hard to put into words until you walk out on it.
When I turned 20 my best friend gave me 20 presents for my “champagne birthday.” I will never forget it.
#prayforparis. Everything that has happened in Paris over the past week has really reminded me how lucky we are to wake up everyday and put our feet on the ground.
I would definitely rather be the smartest. Looks last about five minutes most of the time, but being clever and creative can set you apart from the group. I’ve never been afraid of hard work in my entire life. Now being the smartest and hard working? That would be quite the combination.
Teleportation. If I could illuminate the time it takes to travel from place to place, I feel like I would have so much extra time every week!
Chicken lettuce wraps. OK, so that’s not really a sandwich, but I’ve been really trying to take out bread from my diet. I figure if I’m going to cheat on a diet, I’m going to do it with something sweet. So anytime I get a sandwich these days I usually just eat the insides. That’s the best part anyways!
John Mayer and Ed Sheeran. I know that’s two artists, but I look up to both of them for their songwriting. They have something to say that’s unique and completely them. I could listen to any of their records front to back. and John’s guitar playing isn’t too bad either. 🙂
Old episodes of Friends, Jimmy Fallon, old SNL skits…Blue Oyster Cult.
…I have a guitar in my hands.
…who I am.
