One of the hottest tours of the summer pulled into Merriweather Post Pavillion on June 14th, 2018. What Makes You Country tour with headlining artist Luke Bryan was completely SOLD OUT!
Big Loud recording artist Morgan Wallen was first to take the stage. The East Tennessee native is known for his blue-collar swag while brilliantly portraying mainstream styles. Wallen opened strong with his hit song “The Way I Talk” and sailed effortlessly into “Whiskey Glasses.” His rock and roll mashup was well taken and his vocal performance was tip top. It’s evident Wallen is the future of country music. A star with legendary quality making timeless music who certainly knows how to entertain a crowd…that’s exactly who Wallen is.
California native Jon Pardi has had success over the last few years. Touring seems to be right up his alley. Pardi is one of those artists who just thrive at anything they do. He can write, he can play the guitar and of course, sing. Pardi opened his set with “Paycheck” and continued to serenade the crowd with his radio hits such as “Heartache on the Dance Floor” and “She Ain’t In It.” Although breaking out a Ganjo (Yes, A Ganjo!) seems unlikely in today’s modern country world, Pardi likes to keep his country edge, well, country! As a performer Pardi has a special quality, fans are captivated by his musical ability. He has a strong and loyal following and it’s obvious why. The man is a straight shooter with major talent. Who can’t respect that?
Headlining artist Luke Bryan is known for his performing. Entertaining people comes easy for the Georgia native. Bryan has 20 number one singles and he is certainly a household name. With one of the coolest stage setups I have seen this year, Bryan entered his set with “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” and immediately captivated an entire venue. Bryan is down to earth and very likable. His personality absolutely shines on the big stage.
Bryan also performed songs such as “All My Friends Say” and “Light It Up.” Bryan is the kind of artist who pauses during the start of a song because he notices a young fan with down syndrome staring back at him…
“Do you got a sharpie? Want me to sign that CD for ya?”
Luke Bryan is gentle, real and compassionate- fans get more than just an entertainer on this tour, they get a friend.
What Makes You Country Tour is one of the most angelic tours I have seen this year. Just three naturally talented guys being who they are, country. You’ll get plenty of dancing, drinking, and jokes with this bunch but you will also get one of the best nights of your life and that is what music is all about.
