North Carolina native and River House recording artist Luke Combs has sailed a long long way since his vine days. He has just released a deluxe album with five brand new and in high demand songs.
A collection of songs Combs has played on the road during his sold out headlining tour, his fans (bootleggers) demanded these songs and they got them! This 17-track expanded project is just another notch on Comb’s success belt.
In May, Combs released “Beautiful Crazy” which was the first taste of the deluxe album. The track immediately shot to number one on iTunes All-Genre Songs Chart and the music video has over nine million views to date.
All five tracks were co-written by Combs and some are even classics that fans have waited many years to be released.
“Houston, We Got A Problem” is a daunting little ballad that expresses Combs desire to be back home with his girlfriend that he was missing while traveling. It’s witty, passionate and concrete. Clever, real clever.
“Must’ve Never Met You” is a mid tempo style track. Again, Combs sings of a relationship but this time it’s one that just didn’t work out. This track is one that must grow on you but once it does..it’ll be a favorite.
“Beautiful Crazy” is a graceful ballad that showcases Combs affection for his girlfriend, Nicole. It’s a dynamic track that will have you feeling all the feels. It’s a good one.
“A Long Way” is a well written song but compared to the others, it don’t hold memorable. When you have four other tracks that are out of this world, this one just doesn’t seem to catch up. However, vocally Combs destroys any song that he embodies.
“She Got The Best Of Me” is another slowed down track. It’s a Combs classic. If you were a fan before the record deal and the big tours, then you know this song well. Bootleggers consensus is that the track is overly produced and they preferred the previous version.. the one without all the bells and whistles. However, a highly produced track does not take away from the artists intended use. The song still has the same meaning and upholds the same feelings as the day it was first written. It’s everything music should be…honest.
Luke Combs is an artist full of grit and authenticity. This One’s For You Too resonates the fire and passion Combs has shown us all along. From outlaw to lover boy, Combs is still one of the best things to happen to country music in a damn long time!
