Martina McBride and Sara Evans recently shared the Music Marathon Works stage during a special CMA Front and Center event in Nashville, Tennessee. The Front and Center “Ladies Night Out” show was a part of the CMA Songwriter Series, which brought some of Music City’s most renowned writers to the stage to join hit artists, Martina and Sara, in performing songs of their own.
Included in the event were Gretchen Peters (“Independence Day” recorded by Martina McBride), Aimee Mayo (“Let’s Make Love” recorded by Faith Hill), and The Warren Brothers (“Red Solo Cup” recorded by Toby Keith). The leading ladies performed career hits, including Sara’s “Born to Fly” and “Stronger” and Martina’s “Teenage Daughters” and “Independence Day.”
With two such breathtaking female vocalists in one place, it only made sense to also collaborate on a song — a cover of legendary female country artist, Dolly Parton. The two shared the spotlight and performed “Jolene,” taking turns on the verses and assisting one another on the strong choruses.
Martina McBride’s and Sara Evans’ episode of CMA Front and Center will air on April 18th. For more information, visit the Front and Center YouTube page by clicking here.
