Mickey Guyton

Capitol Nashville got it right when they signed Mickey Guyton back in 2011. Capitol Nashville continues to get it right by taking its time and doing everything “just so” to make sure Mickey breaks out at the perfect moment. It appears that perfect moment is now.

Mickey always knew that country music was what her future held. In fact, at a young age she recognized the honesty and genuineness from which country songs were born and wanted to be a part of it, despite the versatile vocal chords she was gifted.

After moving to Los Angeles to attend Santa Monica College, Mickey had the meeting that would forever change her life. Knowing of her dreams to make it in country music, a friend introduced the double job working, penny pinching future star to producer Julian Raymond. Mickey made a wonderful impression, opening the door to a connection to Gary Borman and Steve Moir — two men who had a hand in the careers of Faith Hill, Keith Urban, and Lady Antebellum.

Deciding to strike while the iron was hot, Mickey soon bid farewell to her west coast life, jet-setting to Nashville to build her dream-based reality. It wasn’t long before Capitol Nashville saw what Julian Raymond immediately realized and the ball began to roll for Mickey’s career as a country music artist. After the ink dried on the recording contract, Mickey joined a star-studded lineup of artists to perform at The White House, showing off her pipes when she covered Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” and making people take notice of this up and comer.

Mickey spent the next few years as a renowned member of the songwriting community in Nashville, ultimately signing with BMI earlier this year. She then released her debut EP, Unbreakable, the disc that garners what is poised to be her breakout single, “Better Than You Left Me.” A song that will make your jaw drop and will cause you to Shazam or check your Spotify to see whose stunning voice is coming through your speakers, “Better Than You Left Me” has opened people’s ears, minds, and hearts to this recently named CMT Next Women of Country artist.

Now, Mickey is working intently on her debut full-length album under the wings of producer Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum). Until the project is complete, country music fans are left to anticipate what Mickey has up her sleeve, but, in the mean time, we have a stellar EP and a spectacular single in “Better Than You Left Me” to bridge the proverbial gap. And trust me, it doesn’t get much better than that.
