In the modern world, it’s true, mostly everything is, in fact, automatic. “Things That Are Automatic” inevitably include country superstar Miranda Lambert’s songs hitting Number 1. It seems that every time Miranda releases a single, the single begins a steady upward climb, until it defies all odds and logic in this place we call “Bro Country” and claims the throne.
Miranda’s latest single, “Automatic,” is no exception to that rule. “Automatic,” penned by Miranda, Nicolle Gaylon, and Natalie Hemby, prevailed over all other songs in country music recently, affording it the Number 1 spot on the charts and a party to celebrate the monumental occasion. Paying homage to the meaning of the song, Miranda encouraged attendees to channel their inner Sandy and Danny, get their Greased Lightning on, and come ready to party like it was 1959.
Taking place at Nashville’s aVenue, Miranda treated guests to mini-burgers, 50’s and 60’s music, and prom’esque balloons and streamers. Guests embraced the theme, donning poodle skirts, polka dot blouses, and letterman jackets.
During the party, the “Automatic” songwriting trio received plaques from their publishing companies and medallions from the Country Music Association. Miranda was also presented with a plaque commemorating the platinum status of her most recent smash hit album, aptly titled Platinum. In showing her gratitude to the room full of guests who joined Miranda on her special night, the often sassy songstress stated she was proud “to be sharing this moment with people that inspire me.” She also focused specifically on her co-writers, saying “I know that everybody in this room has contributed in some way. Thank you for being here and thank you for caring about the music.”
Congratulations to Miranda on two more milestones in her career! It looks like Mrs. Shelton intends on continuing to give Mr. Shelton a run for his money at the top of the charts!
