Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, best known as country music duo, Montgomery Gentry, has released its next single, “Folks Like Us,” which is impacting radio now. The song explains the lifestyle of a simple man, celebrating small town living “from California to the Carolines.”
Growing up in Kentucky, it comes as no surprise that Montgomery Gentry would identify with the lyrics; a fast-paced poetic description of the non-complexities associated with being born and raised in one-stoplight towns. The catchy chorus explains to those outside the tiny town tribe what the mentality is like for those in rural neighborhoods:
Folks like us like to live a little, honest, simple, outside, small town America. Dream chasin’, beer drinkin’, raise ’em up, if you’re thinkin’ this ole’ world ain’t got enough boot wearin’, God fearing’ folks like us.
With an upbeat melody and sizzling electric guitars leading to the bridge of the song, the longtime country music veterans with twenty charted songs are back and ready to show the new blood how it’s done.
