Moonshine Bandits Get Cali Country

Last week I posed this question to twitter, “who is your favorite band to see live?” Leading the votes was California based outlaws Moonshine Bandits. I had my first opportunity to see them last Saturday at the Limerock Festival and was completely blown away. Im not sure what I expected but the duo, singing about partying and hell raising, was insanely cool. They bring the mix of hip hop and country to an all new level with their high energy performances and heavy bass sounds.

Moonshine Bandits name didn’t come by accident. It originated from Tex’s family who was known for bootlegging alcohol during the Prohibition. His resourceful great grandfather peddled illegal alcohol using a barber shop as the front of his business.  Following tradition, the duo created their very own 99 proof Outlaw Moonshine, and have been known to sip a little on stage.

On February 4. 2014 Moonshine Bandits will release their brand new CD, “Cali Country”, through Nashville based Average Joes Entertainment. Tex says this album has a mix of their own brand of “hell-raising music” and a few songs that are a bit slower and more personal. The album features appearances by The Lacs, Colt Ford, Big B, Danny Boone, Durwood Black and Sarah Ross. The album, sure to be a favorite, is available for pre-order on iTunes now.
