[email protected] Returns to Her Rocker Roots

You might not know this, but Cassadee Pope has her cowboy boots firmly cemented in rocker roots. So, while the guys of Mötley Crüe may be shocked that someone, especially someone as endearing as Cassadee, found the song “The Animal in Me,” it should come as no surprise to Cassadee’s fans that this multi-genre artist uncovered a hidden gem. A hidden gem full of controversy, attitude, and sex.

True, the subject of the song is a little more risque than what we are used to hearing from Cassadee, but that’s the beauty of this particular artist! If the short clips overheard during the YouTube video below are any indication of how seamlessly Cassadee shifted from her norm to something outside the proverbial box, we are in for quite an exciting and unique track by this country music sweetheart. A steep departure from lyrics such as “I wish I could break your heart; I wish I could make you cry,” Cassadee abandons her gentleness and sensitivity for a quality that is more … captivating.

The original lyrics, in very PG-13 part, go “lying in my bed with her hands tied up, I knew it all along that it wasn’t enough; cause when I got a taste of you, I found something to sink my teeth into.” And now, before you waste any more tears as you come to grips with hearing such words escape our sweet Cassadee’s mouth, we direct your attention to the second of the videos below to purify your Cassadee Pope-loving minds!

Oh, and you can also check out the first video below to hear what the guys of Mötley Crüe actually said about this country starlet covering their track. The Big Machine tribute to Mötley Crüe is available in stores and online now.
