In an unusual twist of fate, it is quite possible that this season’s NBC The Voice may hail from a team that isn’t Team Adam or Team Blake. Still standing are three contenders for the coveted “Voice” title: Team Adam’s Christina Grimmie; Team Blake’s Jake Worthington; and Team Usher’s Josh Kaufman. While Team Adam and Team Blake have dominated the competition series over the last five seasons, Season Six has the potential to produce a winner from another team — or does it?
Christina Grimmie comes to The Voice after becoming a YouTube sensation, complete with over two million subscribers. Could her Internet notoriety translate on to the “boob tube” and help catapult her to the win, in the wake of Team Adam’s Season Five victory?
Jake Worthington, the sole remaining member of the historically victorious Team Blake, has won the hearts of country music fans nationwide. After not having a coach choose him in Season Five, is it possible this self-proclaimed redneck can be America’s choice in Season Six?
Josh Kaufman, who started the season off on Team Adam and was later stolen by Team Usher, has the ability to be the first contestant that was not coached by Adam Levine or Blake Shelton to take home the trophy. Could Josh, a man whose young son thinks he has spent the last several months at a Target store, have targeted the majority of the voting public’s hearts this season?
