RaeLynn caught our ears with her delightful southern vocals and later caught our hearts with her infectious soft personality on Season 2 of NBC’s The Voice. Although RaeLynn was eliminated, she created a strong fan base as well as a determination to show the world what she was capable of musically. After recently signing with Warner Brothers Nashville (also home to her voice coach Blake Shelton) she released a new single titled “Love Triangle.”
A personal and painful story, “Love Triangle” was written when she was just 18 years old. The heartfelt ballad is raw, truthful and incredibly tender. It’s a look back into her childhood and the confusion and hurt that comes from divorce. It reveals touching lyrics like “Some mommas and daddies are loving in a straight line, take forever to heart and take a long sweet ride. But some mommas and daddies let their heart strings tear and tangle and some of us get stuck in a love triangle.”
“Love Triangle” is pure mastery. It’s filled with simple, yet perfectly fitting strums on the six-string as well as flawless vocals. RaeLynn breathes life back into country music with this powerful ballad. It’s everything our genre was founded on. Every note is conveyed with bittersweet emotion. Music is not a trend, it’s an art and RaeLynn just painted and produced her very own Picasso.
