[email protected] (Joined by @Kelly_Clarkson @RonnieDunn & @CarolineKole) Releases #PrayForPeace (Watch!)

After days of teasing the release of a new song, “Pray for Peace,” the Queen of Country Music, Reba McEntire, took to Facebook to share a project she has been working on for quite some time.

Comprised of bagpipes, fiddles, drums, and some of Reba’s friends in the music industry, “Pray for Peace” proves to be one of the more worldly country songs to be released to date. The song, which Reba calls “a gift from God,” adopts sounds from other nations and embraces the culture therein, while utilizing Reba’s undeniable country music vocals to keep it well within our genre.

The lyrics repeatedly urge listeners to pray for peace, but, in connection with the montage-style music video, the track does not seem redundant and, instead, gives the vibe that it is ever-evolving. To substantiate the evolution of the song and the feeling that she is attempting to gather members of the human race to join her in a movement of prayer, Reba later sings:

There’s power in the number of us praying here on Earth. We’re asking for a miracle, let your voice be the first to pray for peace. Pray for our mother. Pray for peace. Pray for your father. Pray for peace. Pray for your children. Please pray for peace. And pray for you. Please pray for peace.

Notably in the song, there are other artists’ voices with which you may be familiar. In completing this very personal project, Reba enlisted the help of longtime friend Ronnie Dunn; friend, former tour mate, and daughter-in-law, Kelly Clarkson; and current mentee and show opener, Caroline Kole. The unity of the voices further exemplifies Reba’s message of the importance of coming together for one greater good and one ultimate goal.

You can download the song for free on Reba’s Facebook and watch the moving video below, which includes ongoing clips of people around the world uniting with a simple hand gesture that denotes a prayer for peace. We congratulate Reba on a beautiful and mindful project that will touch country music fans everywhere.
