Album Review: @JonPardi ‘Write You A Song’

Originally from California, Jon Pardi is not new to the country music scene.  The 28 year old singer toured with Dierks Bentley back in 2010 and has been working towards his debut release on Capital Nashville since then.  Back in 2012 Pardi released “Missin’ You Crazy” to radio, but even with favorable reviews, the song barely got into Top 30.  The follow-up “Up All Night” was released last year.  The catchy tune has been getting in the heads of listeners as it has become Jon’s first Top 20 song.

Being on the road has obviously become a part of Pardi as the theme covers many songs.  Missing women is the theme among “Write You A Song” and “Missin’ You Crazy,” while he still tries to be “That Man” to a special girl.  If he’s lucky they could “Trash a Hotel Room,” but he could just end up at the bar.  Drinking is the theme among “What I Can’t Put Down,” “Empty Beer Cans,” and “When I’ve been Drinking.”

Altogether the disc is a strong debut for Jon Pardi.  There’s a good mix of drinking and love songs to leave any country listener happy.  Let’s see what 2014 will bring him – it could be the year of the Pardi!

The album is available tomorrow but you can pre-order on itunes now!
