Building Blazing a trail to new idea’s is always an adventure. Country Music’s #CMchat was born from a desire to help promote Musicians/Music Industry Professionals and my love of social media. I wanted to create a platform that would give fans “backstage” access to artists as well as give artists a meet and greet opportunity with fans that could be done from the comfort of their own couch. Additionally it was meant to give artists and fans, as well as artist to artist and fan to fan, a platform to get to know each other online…true SOCIAL media, different from the usual broadcasting methodology thus equalizing the experience in a casual and fun setting.
We’ve gathered to get to know artists from The Oak Ridge Boys to Florida Georgia Line to Kelsea Ballerini…following many artists from their first song written for another singer, to their first radio tour, first album and many double digit number ones.
So after 4 years, and more than 10 billion impressions…from my mind to your fingertips comes the next generation of online Entertainment: #HeyStar! #HeyStar! is a brand new Hashtag community and Twitterview chat highlighting Celebrities, including your favorite Television and Movie Stars, Athletes, Musicians, High Profile Personalities, hosted by me and Social Media Entertainment Correspondent Tommy Geraci. It is only fitting that our first guest be one of the coolest, kindest, and most thought-provoking personalities of our generation, Ricki Lake. Join us on Twitter Tuesday June 30 at 6pPT/9pET.

Some of you may know Ricki Lake from her talk show or from John Water’s “Hairspray” or her first documentary The Business of Being Born. Lake is currently working on films including Weed the People which explores the use of cannabis on children with cancer, as well as a film about hormonal birth control, called Sweetening the Pill along with producer Abby Epstein. The Business of Being Born questioned the one size fits all approach to birth, and they’ve noticed that there is similar approach to contraception.
In the film, she (and Abby) will be interviewing experts, as well as women who speak of their personal experiences. You can check out her kickstarter for the film here:
