Join Technology Futurist Robert Scoble for a #HeySTAR! Twitterview Thurs 12/3

Robert Scoble

As Futurist for Rackspace, the leading Managed Cloud Computing Company, Robert Scoble travels the world looking for what’s happening on the bleeding edge of technology. He’s interviewed thousands of executives and technology innovators and reports what he learns in books, YouTube, and many social media sites where he’s followed by millions of people. Personally I’ve looked up to “Scobleizer” for years now. For many reasons more than the fact that Robert Scoble is THE Technology go-to guy, I am absolutely thrilled he agreed to do a Twitterview with us here on our Celebrity Twitter Chat platform HeyStar. I booked this with him few months ago and couldn’t believe he said yes, made me feel super legit because I really look up to him professionally as an industry thought leader, and personally for the way he shares himself straight from the hip with much wit and gracefulness.

#HeySTAR is proud to welcome Robert Scoble for an hour long Twitterview on Thursday December 3rd starting at 6pPT/9pET!

You can submit questions that you might want us to feature below. This doesn’t mean you still can’t ask questions the night of the Twitterview. These are just featured by our host Jessica Northey (me), and I’ll give you credit like this.

MORE ABOUT ROBERT SCOBLE (in his own words)

I’m a geek who grew up in Silicon Valley (my dad was an engineer at Lockheed) and since 1985 I’ve been building online communities. In 2000 I started my technology blog,, and my life has been on a rocketship ever since. In 2003-2006 I worked at Microsoft as an evangelist and one of the five guys who started Microsoft’s famous Channel9 video community.

I’m now working at Rackspace as its Futurist (I go around the world to study and make media about world-changing innovators). You’ll also see my videos on but the best place to watch me now is on Facebook, on Twitter or on my blog. Our professional videos, done in studio, are on Rackspace’s YouTube site.

The real-time streaming web is changing my life faster than I can imagine, and lets me keep in touch with thousands of technology and business innovators all around the world.

I’m also the father of three sons, Patrick, 21, Milan, 7, and Ryan, 5 (as of 2015). Lots of fun and they are all geeks in training too.

Anyway, visit some of my links to see more about me, especially my Wikipedia profile (I didn’t edit any of it, that was done by people in the community) and feel free to drop me a line at [email protected] anytime you need something or want to talk about being on one of my video shows.

Oh, and, yes, I do answer my own cell phone and I do include that number on the Internet for you to use: +1-425-205-1921 and have for several years. I live in Half Moon Bay near the Ritz and would love to meet up with geeks/entrepreneurs if you are in town and I’m available.

Everyone asks “what exactly do you do Jessica?” What some of my family members say, “she tweets for a living” is my favorite, but really the title that puts food on the table is “Social Media Influencer,” the definition sounds simple, someone who influences others through social media, but I consider myself a Citizen Journalist broadcasting and entertaining with news, thoughts, opinions, delivering information in my own unique way. Famous for my ‘sass wit and straight from the hip’ style I’ve always been called a “Social Media Pioneer” in the music industry. I’m also an On-Air/Online Broadcasting Host and Personality, Digital Media Strategist, Country and Music Blogger/Journalist as well as a Nationally recognized Speaker and Founder of Country Music Chat, News and Views Entertainment Website My favorite accomplishment is starting the largest Country Music Hashtag community in the world Country Music’s #CMChat.

It all started with a hunch…back in the early 2000’s I would dial up the internet via AOL and join chat rooms whilst watching my favorite programs on TV. Loved watching Reality Shows with my Mom in Tucson, and blowing her mind with how I always knew who was going home on the Bachelor or Big Brother. Don’t think she ever caught on that I was talking to people via computer on the East Coast, where it had already aired. (We didn’t have the uber-spoiler Twitter or Facebook to ruin results and awards shows for us yet.)

I’ve been taking over the internet, one tweet at a time and have accumulated over 3 Million followers/friends/fans across all my Social Media networks. Over the years I’ve been consistently ranked as an influential online personality and even named as a Forbes Top 50 Social Media Power Influencer. I was the first person Merle Haggard followed when he got on Twitter and spent the day with Garth Brooks at Twitter and Facebook when joined the social media world.

Thanks for the email! We'll get back to you as soon as possible!
