It’s been over a year since we’ve heard new music from Rodney Atkins, but the country crooner is back with his new single “Eat Sleep Love You Repeat.” Despite the complications of life, Atkins attests to the simplicity of love on the single, a catchy sing-a-longy track that’s remnant of his biggest hits.
The “Take a Back Road” and “Watching You” singer shines on the breezy track, which tells the story of a rebel without a cause, finding happiness in his simplistic routine of love: Eat. Sleep. Love You. Repeat. “If it’s alright with you, all I wanna do,” Atkins croons, “is eat, sleep, love you, repeat.” Additionally, only one thing could make his day even better. “Pour a little drinking in the mix, and I’d be like ‘sweet’!”
The song was written by Walker Hayes and Ryan Bizarri and features backup vocals from Hayes, producer Ted Hewitt and members of Atkins’ live band, Judd Fuller and Liam Bailey. It is the first single from his forthcoming album, due to be released on Curb Records.
He’ll perform the track at upcoming live shows, namely a special “Songwriter’s Night” at Nashville’s Listening Room Cafe on November 8 to support the Tennessee Voices for Children (TVC) Organization. Additionally, the longtime USO supporter will perform at a private event in Nashville for the Veteran Airlift Command on November 14.
