Ryan Van Sickle

CMchatlive.com‘s #OneToWatch highlight’s Up & Coming, New Music, Bands and/or Artists!  We’re hoping this will be a great way to recognize and introduce you to some amazing new (or new to you) talent and #CMchat community members. If you have a suggestion let us know!

I guarantee you all need to keep your eyes on Singer and Songwriter American/Folk/Rocking Musician Ryan Van Sickle. With nearly three quarters of a million followers on Google Plus he is one of the most sought after performers on the platform.

Born and raised in Dundas, Ontario, Canada, Ryan Van Sickle always dreamed big. Influenced by Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Daniel Lanois, Johnny Cash, Lucinda Williams, Emmylou Harris his first recollection of music was early on in childhood. Both grandmothers were piano players, and he remembers them plunking away and singing their hearts out.

“I started piano lessons when I was 6, but quickly figured out I could play by ear resulting in the lessons lasting only a few weeks”, says Ryan.  “The record player and radio were always playing in my home growing up. My mom and dad’s love for early rock n’ roll and country music somehow found its way into my soul.”

Little did he know or imagine that 25 years later he’d pick up a guitar, and be playing music and writing songs about his own life!

“Life has a strange way of working sometimes, but I know that the road I’m on is where my destiny lies. Sharing my stories gives me some sort of place in the world, and that’s all we ever want isn’t it? To find something that we are passionate about? Something that when we discover it we can’t live without it? That’s storytelling for me.”

His first album “Ghosts of the Brokenhearted” tells the stories of love lost, destroyed, and found again. It speaks of finding new life and new hope in a world that sometimes seems too cruel.

“My goal with the album is to take you on a musical journey through the human experience.”  I started this traveling music show later in life than most, and I’m looking forward to meeting new people along the way. The stages I will play on. The states, provinces, territories, and countries I’ll visit along the way.

Looking forward to him writing the songs that he’s not yet written or experienced to share.

Everyone asks “what exactly do you do Jessica?” What some of my family members say, “she tweets for a living” is my favorite, but really the title that puts food on the table is “Social Media Influencer,” the definition sounds simple, someone who influences others through social media, but I consider myself a Citizen Journalist broadcasting and entertaining with news, thoughts, opinions, delivering information in my own unique way. Famous for my ‘sass wit and straight from the hip’ style I’ve always been called a “Social Media Pioneer” in the music industry. I’m also an On-Air/Online Broadcasting Host and Personality, Digital Media Strategist, Country and Music Blogger/Journalist as well as a Nationally recognized Speaker and Founder of Country Music Chat, News and Views Entertainment Website CMChatLIVE.com. My favorite accomplishment is starting the largest Country Music Hashtag community in the world Country Music’s #CMChat. It all started with a hunch...back in the early 2000’s I would dial up the internet via AOL and join chat rooms whilst watching my favorite programs on TV. Loved watching Reality Shows with my Mom in Tucson, and blowing her mind with how I always knew who was going home on the Bachelor or Big Brother. Don’t think she ever caught on that I was talking to people via computer on the East Coast, where it had already aired. (We didn’t have the uber-spoiler Twitter or Facebook to ruin results and awards shows for us yet.) I’ve been taking over the internet, one tweet at a time and have accumulated over 3 Million followers/friends/fans across all my Social Media networks. Over the years I’ve been consistently ranked as an influential online personality and even named as a Forbes Top 50 Social Media Power Influencer. I was the first person Merle Haggard followed when he got on Twitter and spent the day with Garth Brooks at Twitter and Facebook when joined the social media world.
