If you aren’t a fan of the spoiler, hit that “X” in the top right corner of your window stat. While we would love to keep your attention right here on Country Music #CMchat, we would hate to rain on your Lipstick Graffiti Tour parade.
If you are interested in a sneak peek at Sam Hunt’s new tour, this is the place to be! Now, we know some believe that Sam is a proud member of Bro Nation, but truth be told, he highly respects the females of country music, and even intends to honor them during his headlining tour.
Specifically, Sam’s setlist includes covers of Reba McEntire, Wynonna Judd, and Trisha Yearwood hits. And while the lyrics of those songs may seem best fit for a female vocalist, Sam has no qualms about undertaking this task.
At times, I think, as we cover those songs, I’ll change a few lyrics, but sometimes, like the song that we’re gonna do, “Fancy” by Reba McEntire, there’s no real way to get around that, so I’m just gonna sing that one. It’s such a great song that hopefully it won’t matter.
Also included in Sam’s plan is Wynonna’s heavy-hitting “No One Else on Earth,” which is a unisex tune.
Sam recently explained the title of his tour, sharing that one of his unreleased songs “Vandalizer” begins with the line “lipstick graffiti on the bathroom mirror, what happened to me ain’t real clear.” The words stood out to Sam because of the interesting combination of emotions that each holds. “The words ‘lipstick’ and the word ‘graffiti’ have these two different emotions that somehow blended in a cool way.”
Sam Hunt’s Lipstick Graffiti Tour kicks off tonight at The Troubador in Hollywood, California.
