It’s September and I Don’t Know How That Happened… #TrueNorthey

The year went by SO quick!  How about you…got a little whiplash from the warp-speed of 2014?

Just got back from Atlantis. I brought some germs home too, but I think I got that on one (or all) of the eight (yes, eight) planes I was on. Sing it with me…I got the funk on a plane. AND, while I might have picked up something on a plane(s), don’t even get me started about losing things on planes… However, this turned into a new endorsement which I’ll be announcing soon. SO, talk about turning limes into margaritas.

I was really excited to be recognized as a Top 40 Social Media Influencer based on my Klout score, which is to Social Media what Nielsen/Arbitron are to TV/Radio. To put it into perspective me =84, CMT = 84, Country Weekly = 70, Taste of Country = 81, Blake Shelton = 88, Miranda Lambert = 86. Most people in Country may not realize it, but I also wear a “Social Media Thought Leader” hat, even being called a pioneer in social media industry by Forbes. That’s not even a a humble brag, that’s a straight brag cause I am damn proud!

CMA Awards noms came out.  I don’t who I would take off, but I was surprised to not see Lee Brice, Randy Houser, Chase Rice or Jason Aldean nominated for a couple categories. I am a huge Brandy Clark fan and was so happy to see her recognized. Nicole Piering was live at the press conference in New York. and you can check out her post here!

NEW MUSIC this week.
Tim McGraw/Shotgun Rider/Big Machine
Lee Brice/Drinking Class/Curb  <loving this!
Easton Corbin/Baby Be My Love Song/MCA
Natalie Stovall and The Drive/Mason Jar/Hit Shop Records

Garth Brooks dropped his first single in seven years, “People Loving People.” It reminds me of earlier Garth music, and while it may not be as heavy-hitting as songs like the “Ready Set Rolls” of our time, it is worldly, timely, and shares a beautiful message as a solution to the problems people face today. Jen Swirsky wrote a review of the song and embedded a stream of it, so you can check it out and listen here!

AND, #CMchat sent lucky winners Landon and Stephanie Rodriguez to the Garth Brooks press conference in Chicago, they got to ask Garth a question, and they are going to the show tonight. We’ll have a wrap up for you on that soon.

In other news:

Brad Paisley released “Perfect Storm” to radio; a song off his new album Moonshine in the Trunk. Read our review here.

Garth made some major announcements regarding the digital sale of his music. Find out what bomb Garth dropped on the country music world by clicking here.

Cassasdee Pope recently performed an unreleased song at a New Jersey show. Is this poised to be on her next album? Find out what we think of “Like There’s No Tomorrow” here!

This week’s One to Watch is Cole Taylor. Check out Tyler Winters’ write-up on this up-and-coming artist.

I hope you all had a superb first week of September and am excited to make it a “September to Remember” with all of our faithful followers. Thank you all for being you and sticking with us! We couldn’t do it without you!

Everyone asks “what exactly do you do Jessica?” What some of my family members say, “she tweets for a living” is my favorite, but really the title that puts food on the table is “Social Media Influencer,” the definition sounds simple, someone who influences others through social media, but I consider myself a Citizen Journalist broadcasting and entertaining with news, thoughts, opinions, delivering information in my own unique way. Famous for my ‘sass wit and straight from the hip’ style I’ve always been called a “Social Media Pioneer” in the music industry. I’m also an On-Air/Online Broadcasting Host and Personality, Digital Media Strategist, Country and Music Blogger/Journalist as well as a Nationally recognized Speaker and Founder of Country Music Chat, News and Views Entertainment Website CMChatLIVE.com. My favorite accomplishment is starting the largest Country Music Hashtag community in the world Country Music’s #CMChat. It all started with a hunch...back in the early 2000’s I would dial up the internet via AOL and join chat rooms whilst watching my favorite programs on TV. Loved watching Reality Shows with my Mom in Tucson, and blowing her mind with how I always knew who was going home on the Bachelor or Big Brother. Don’t think she ever caught on that I was talking to people via computer on the East Coast, where it had already aired. (We didn’t have the uber-spoiler Twitter or Facebook to ruin results and awards shows for us yet.) I’ve been taking over the internet, one tweet at a time and have accumulated over 3 Million followers/friends/fans across all my Social Media networks. Over the years I’ve been consistently ranked as an influential online personality and even named as a Forbes Top 50 Social Media Power Influencer. I was the first person Merle Haggard followed when he got on Twitter and spent the day with Garth Brooks at Twitter and Facebook when joined the social media world.
