The Sound of Hate Tweets for @CarrieUnderwood

Carrie Underwood and her role as Maria in the highly anticipated live airing of The Sound of Music is right around the corner. We all know the girl can sing, but as it stands right now, Carrie says she hasn’t been seeing the best feedback for her role in the musical.

“I get hate tweets and stuff like, ‘You’re not Julie Andrews!’”

She goes on to say, “I know I’m not Julie. Nobody is and I would never pretend that I was … I know my place.”

Some of the tweets are:

Ouch! Pretty harsh words for someone and the special hasn’t even aired yet.

Although its been reported that Julie Andrews herself supports Underwood’s role, you can see for yourself if Carrie does the role of Maria any justice by tuning into “The Sound of Music” live TV special on NBC on Dec. 5th at 8PM ET.

Go get ’em, Carrie. No pressure… err, right?

  1. Judging Carrie Underwood Before the show airs, Just not right…Sometimes haters just gotta hate…She has an amazing voice and is a good person too….For your info people Julie herself LIKES IT! Ha

    • Totally agree! I think Carrie is the perfect choice for this. I can’t even think of anyone in Hollywood that I would see in this roll. *maybe* Anne Hathaway…but for voice…I’d go with Carrie today, tomorrow and every day that ends in -y.
