Did Taylor Swift betray Nashville?

Taylor Swift recently graced the cover of British Vogue looking all sorts of 80’s inspired fierce hotness. It’s definitely a new look for Swift. But there’s a lot of new going on for Taylor.  You’ve got the new sound, the new hair, the new home in New York City AND you’ve got this newfound fierceness.

She addressed that in the magazine saying :

“This time around I’ve chosen the brave and bold way of going about things,” she says of recording her new pop friendly music. “Because with this album I’ve completely changed the sound of everything I’ve done until now. So it’s interesting to not be afraid of that.”

She also wasn’t afraid to approach the whole “she betrayed Nashville and country music” thing critics are claiming by saying:

“You know, I don’t want to hurt people’s feelings, I don’t want to betray Nashville, whatever, but essentially it comes down to challenging yourself as an artist.”

Taylor is a 24 year old discovering who is she is. She just happens to be doing that under the watchful eyes of the entire universe. I applaud her for finding who she is and not being afraid to go with it in typical Taylor Swift fashion…by giving 110%.

Her new album, 1989, will be released on October 27th.

Until next time…this lid is closed-CMChatter Box….
