If you were a few weeks away from your dream wedding day with your perfect man when your ex-lover sent a handwritten letter with his feelings etched in each pen-stroke, what would you do? Written by Adam Wheeler and John Ritter and recorded by Tenille Arts, their latest single, “Cold Feet” feels like the song version of a Nicholas Sparks storyline. It will have you spinning romantic scenarios while the delicate melody dances in your ears.
Soft, gentle guitar strums and vocals set the tone for a truly innocent perspective while question marks arise with appropriate piano licks. When the past collides with the present, the lead is faced with a heart-wrenching decision that she dares not choose wrong. The lyrics “She’s running out of time to decide what’s right and whose heart she’s willing to break,” express how vital her decision is. What pains me, yet is the most clever idea of the song, is how it ends. “Cold Feet” leaves us at the climax, wishing for whichever side you’re rooting for to pull through. She has cold feet, but who does she choose? We need to know, Tenille Arts!
Who do you think she will (or should) choose? Do you know anyone who has ever gone through something like this?
