Every week in Country Music Chat’s/#CMchat’s #DigitalDuel we will be featuring two songs for you to vote on. The songs might be related, might be different covers, or have no relation at all. Once they’re posted, it’s up to you – the fans – to spread the word and hash it out to win the #DigitalDuel. Simple enough?
Here’s your new challenge:
Florida Georgia Line has reached massive success with their first CD, Here’s To The Good Times. As they awaited the release of their sophomore album, a lot of thought went into what their first single from their Anything Goes project would be. In July of this year, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard sent “Dirt” to country radio. Within a few short months, the song made it to #1 and has sold over 800,000 copies. Here is “Dirt”:
The Farm has been a longtime friend of #CMchat creator Jessica Northey. In 2012, the group had success with their debut single “Home Sweet Home”. Since then, we haven’t heard music from The Farm other than a few touring dates including a run with Big & Rich. Last week they debuted a brand new single, “Mud”, on iTunes and SiriusXM’s The Highway. Give the song a listen, and let us know what you think of it by voting below.
One thing that’s for certain is that country folk love to get a little dirty. This week we are putting to battle two songs that are down right dirty…literally. “Mud” and “Dirt” take two very different approaches to the idea of getting dirty. Who will be crowned the winner in this head-to-head battle? Vote for your pick in this week’s #DigitalDuel.
