March 10th 2016, The Home Team Tour rolled into town. A sold out show, were the majority of the fan base was women 30 and under, it was something I knew I wanted to cover.
Due to a mix up with tickets (shout out to Royal Farms Arena PR staff! Y’all rock!) I was unable to see the first two acts, However, I could hear them clearly.
Russell Dickerson is such a good singer. His set sounded lively and fun. Also, the bad ass himself Ryan Hurd. Every song was catchy and presented with true artistry. I’m a huge fan. He is a rock star!
Kelsea Ballerini, the only female artist on the tour, was fire. She is a heavy hitter with incredible vocals. Dressed like a super star, Ballerini performed songs such as “Yeah Boy” and “Love Me Like You Mean It.” She is not only a brilliant songwriter but her easy-going personality shines onstage. Exceptionally entertaining and undeniably talented, Kelsea Ballerini is gold.
Headlining artist Thomas Rhett came out forceful with “Crash and Burn.” He was electric. He worked the entire arena (and this was the biggest show he had ever played!) Rhett’s set included tracks like “Tangled Up” and “Get Me Some Of That.” Also, performing at the back of the arena he performed songs like “Beer With Jesus” and “Parkin Lot Party” (that he wrote for Lee Brice.)
Thomas Rhett is a massive dose of energy. His set is a great time. His vocals are almost flawless and the twang that flows from his notes are bona fide. He is a musician, a writer, and a performer. The star power that illuminates when he performs is just remarkable. There is a lot of entertaining factors that went into this tour. The dancing. The band. Rhett’s outgoing personality. It all created one hell of a show.
If you are looking to have a good time and are looking for REAL entertainment, then this is the tour for you. Rhett’s energy was unlike any other. His ability to connect with the audience? Impressive. Thomas Rhett defines true entertainment and true talent. If you haven’t checked out The Home Team Tour yet, you need to.
