The famous Houston Rodeo kicks off today (March 4th) and goes through the 23rd. Looks like 2014 is a very exciting year for the bustling city of Houston. This year the city celebrates the yearly anniversary for the Houston Rodeo, and in the true Texas form this years event is no small gig. Events include Bronc riding, Barrel racing, Steer wrestling, Roping and the extreme, Bull riding….and to top it all off there are several big country names lined up to provide musical entertainment. Some musical guests are Brad Paisley, Eli Young Band, Reba, Chris Young, Jason Aldean, Jake Owen, Keith Urban, Hunter Hayes, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Blake Shelton, Easton Corbin, The Band Perry and Zac Brown Band.
Sounds like this years Houston Rodeo is going to be a Texas sized extravaganza of good, clean all American family fun. Last years event brought in nearly over 2 million patrons alone. So I think its safe to say that people come from far and wide to soak in the electric atmosphere that is called Rodeo. So please don’t hesitate to come on out an join the fun at the Houston Rodeo on top of catching a concert or two.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ was organized for charitable, educational and scientific purposes to encourage and promote the breeding, raising and marketing of better livestock and farm products at public fairs and to promote and maintain research and educational functions within the livestock industry. It is the general policy of the Show to utilize, in the fiscal year subsequent to which it is earned, the excess of its revenue over expenses for the furtherance of its exempt purpose, including the granting and/or funding of scholarships, educational endowments, agricultural research projects and other similar programs and the funding of related capital additions and improvements. The funds of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo are used exclusively to meet necessary expenses for its upkeep and operation and in furtherance of the exempt purpose of the organization.
