Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard “Unfair Weather Friend”

The legends are back!

Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard have just released a beautiful ballad “Unfair Weather Friend,” the second release after “It’s All Going to Pot,” from their upcoming album Django and Jimmie due in stores June 2nd.

It’s a song about true lasting friendship. Through good times and bad times these two gentlemen have remained friends which is rare nowadays.

Willie sings, “I show up at your door beat down and soaking wet, I know you will open up and let me waltz in.” Merle returns his sentiment with, “If I find myself lost on a lonely Friday night…the few numbers on the phone and you’re on the other end.”

That’s a real friendship. A friendship built on a trust that they will ALWAYS be there for one another.

One line says it all, “You’re right there where you’ve always been.” It’s a heartfelt song by two extraordinary artists whose friendship has withstood the test of time. It’s a perfect song to dedicate to the true friend in your life. My mom is my “Unfair Weather Friend.” She has stuck by me through thick and thin. Not because she has to but because she is a true friend. The song hit airwaves this week!
