Wynonna Judd is embarking on a tour that she says is something she’s never done before, even calling it a “dream”. The country legend announced her Wynonna and Friends: Stories & Song Tour, which is set to kick off on January 14th in Durham, North Carolina.
The tour, with dates into March, will make for an intimate experience for fans as it will only be visiting small venues across the country. Wynonna, along with her 3-part band, will share the personal stories and experiences behind the inspiration of her recorded songs from her 30-year platinum career.
About the inspiration for the special tour, Wynonna explained:
The concept for the ‘Stories & Song’ tour has been a dream of mine for many years and will be unlike any tour I’ve ever done before. My husband and professional partner, Cactus Moser, and I have put this show together and, along with the band [The Big Noise], we all feel a renewed passion and we believe that this music is being celebrated in a whole new way. That gives me a great deal of hope and it is my prayer that others who come to our shows will experience that hope as well.
Wynonna has been working with husband/producer/drummer Cactus Moser on solo material for her 8th studio album due out 2015 on Curb Records. The couple also released recently an original song “Follow Me,” made exclusively for the film “The Hornet’s Nest.” Check out their performance of the song on “Good Morning America” below.
