Country singer Zach DuBois just unveiled a brand new track from his upcoming album Flâneur, available September 22. The song is called “Life on the Road,” and it tells the story about playing shows and entertaining an audience while chasing a dream. The inspiring lyrics detail the journey and the reasons to keep going, even when times get tough. THe song will be available tomorrow at digital retailers nationwide.
“Life on the Road is the most autobiographical song on the album. It was inspired by the past 6 years of my life, traveling around the country, singing my songs for anyone who would listen,” says DuBois. “There are positives and negatives with every decision you make in life, and the song is a reflection on both sides of the coin. Whether you are a singer-songwriter, medical student, or accountant, there are always things that you wish you had. I guess the secret to life is discovering the thing that you cannot live without, and then learning to be content with all of the baggage that accompanies it. We’re all just trying to figure it out.”
Zach DuBois has already begun turning heads, becoming a CMT Discovery Artist, while also winning an ASCAP Plus Songwriter Award in 2015. The Indiana native is also a graduate of Notre Dame, prior to moving to Nashville to pursue a career in country music. He gave up medical school after graduation, instead choosing to chase his dream of playing music.
